Grading of Respiratory Noise – Pre Exercise:

Grade 0 – Not audible

Grade 1 – Not audible to mild stertor (low pitched noise) and/or moderate intermittent nasal stertor when sniffing.

Grade 2 – Mild to moderate stertor or stridor (high pitched noise).

Grade 3 – Moderate to severe stertor or stridor.

Grading of Inspiratory Effort – Pre Exercise.

Grade 0 – Not present

Grade 1 – Mild – Regular breathing pattern.  Minimum use of diaphragm.

Grade 2 – Moderate – Evidence of use of diaphragm and accessory muscles of respiration 

Grade 3 – Severe – Marked movement of diaphragm and accessory muscles of respiration.

Grading of Dyspnoea.

Grade 0 – No sign of discomfort

Grade 1 – Mild – Presents signs of discomfort

Grade 2 – Moderate – Irregular breathing, signs of discomfort

Grade 3 – Severe – Irregular breathing and signs of discomfort and difficulty in breathing

Grading of Eyes – Pigment on Cornea

Grade 0- NAD. Grade1-mildly affected. Grade 2-moderately affected. Grade 3 severely affected.
